Would you rather
be completely content with being completely ignorant of the world and it's sufferings and the frailty of men?
or
be constantly conscious of these things and always in despair?
And explain why you made the choice you did. |

I guess I'd rather know, not really sure why though. _________________ Hey |

I'd want to know what was going on too, but I'm not quite sure why either. I read the Giver at some point in middle school, maybe that's part of it, I wouldn't want a world like it. _________________ Register!

It feels wrong to say it, but in some ways I'd rather be ignorant. _________________ Any intelligent fool can make things bigger, more complex, and more violent. It takes a touch of genius — and a lot of courage — to move in the opposite direction. ~ Albert Einstein |

Ha, I completely understand why you would say that.
I myself prefer to be aware, although it may be more unpleasant or disagreeable to know what's going on in the world, in my view it would be irresponsible to not know. Besides not only is it safer to be aware you can also try and change the world.

I don't know about that. Just because you know something doesn't mean you can do anything about it. |
Yes, however the more you know the more capable you are of changing the circumstance and you cannot deny that the more you know the farther you get into the world. _________________ Vah! Denuone Latine loquebar? Mihi ineptum. Interdum modo elabitur |

I'll agree they're often related, but you can be a genius but powerless or an idiot but powerful. _________________ Register!

I would want to know what's going on. That's how I've always been. _________________

But yes, I would like to be in the know. And knowing all the evils doesn't mean we must despair. Fully grasping the situation would hopefully make one more pragmatic as far as solving problems go.
But then again, I'm religious so I only believe in one ultimate way for solving problems... _________________

Ignorance is bliss. At least in the instance.
Total knowledge would force me to acknowledge my place in society, the world, and even the universe as a whole. My place being, from my standpoint, utterly insignificant. And while I see that as it is, to fully accept and acknowledge that, and everything that entails, would not be a pleasant thing.
I wouldn't be surprised if that resulted in my own suicide. |

Ignorance is not enlightenment. Fruther more it is inevitable that you will discover uncomfortable things about the world at some point in time anyways, so why not go the whole hog, group together and do something about it? _________________
