| I don't think the media is biased left or right, just for profit. When the war's going badly, for instance, they'll focus on celebrities, since most people don't want to hear bad war news and would rather hear about celebrities, so it's profitable. |

| The media shows what sells plain and simple. |

| to have a free media, it needs to be more liberal than conservitive or it will stagnate and it would eventually no longer be a free media. |

| A lot of it might be what sells, but everyone has interests, and rich people who own major media corporations have interests that lean conservative. |

True, but either way the media makes money. |

Media shows what sells, and what sells to the general population is gossip and entertaining topics. Thus, we rarely hear about the war - rather, we hear about how badly the war is going. It's the stigma that goes along with something as bland (to put it lightly) as "Five soldiers were lost in combat today" that makes that entertaining.
Media bias is actually fun; it provided entertainment in my English class. Our teacher was a hippy, liberal, feminist, and one of the guys on my side of the room was conservative (and I don't know what else). He would always get defensive when she gave him the eyebrow after he mentioned watching Fox news. "I know, Mrs. ___ - I watch one hour of Fox every day and one hour of CNN." (exasperated tone of voice). |

I don't care who Angelina Jolie is going out with. If it's not me, I could care less.
Give me real news. |

Fox News has a conservative bias.
Everywhere else, by comparison, has a liberal bias.
Of course, they're all still out for a profit. And ratings.
If people don't watch CNN, CNN can't exist. |
