I think a show off forum would be nice. That makes some member's join your forum, so they can promote there forum.

The only problem with that is that I'm not sure I want members who joined to promote their own forum. This isn't a forum for forums like a graphics forum or skinning forum or whatever. I know I can't be picky in recruiting members, but still, people who post twice and just to talk about their own forum aren't exactly valuable members who I want my forum to be used as an advertising venue by.

That said, if you post here again I'd consider making one. If I did though, I'd require something like 25 posts and inactive members would have their threads removed.

yeah and thats what advertisemnet forums are for, i mean i have that section on my forum, as its a general forum your ad will be seen by most members when it gets going.

if you just stick to what you sought out to have a forum on then you should do better. You do have a solid backbone to a good forum here.
